ROOM ATTENDANT - Vintage Hotels
JOB SUMMARY
The Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning guest rooms to meet set quality standards. Room
Attendants directly assist guests and must provide the best possible customer service experience for
them all while maintaining a workplace culture of respect and teamwork.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Room Attendant reports directly to the Housekeeping Supervisor / Housekeeping Manager. The
Room Attendant works with team members in Housekeeping, Front Desk, Laundry, Maintenance and
the Corporate Office.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Complete cleaning tasks on assigned rooms and other hotel areas within the prescribed timeframes
- Remove dirty linens, dishes and towels from rooms and replace them with clean ones
- Carry towels, linens, toilet items and cleaning supplies using a wheeled cart
- Remove trash and other items left by guest
- Make beds in guest rooms
- Wash basins, mirrors, commodes, tubs and showers
- Dust furniture, light fixtures, window sills, etc.
- Clean windows and rearrange draperies
- Clean hard surface floors
- Scrub tiles
- Clean carpets, upholstery and curtains with vacuum cleaner
- Clean carpets with carpet shampooer, as needed
- Clean refrigerators, microwaves and coffee makers
- Replenish guest items such as toilet paper, facial tissue, coffee, etc.
- Clean and restock cart at the end of each shift
- Dispose of trash, waste, and other disposable materials
- Work with another team member to remove glass surfaces, clean and replace
- Deliver lost and found items to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager
- Report damages to rooms or maintenance issues to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager
- Respond politely and promptly to requests of guests
- Answer guest questions and provide directions
- Perform other duties as assigned

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous related work experience
- High school diploma or GED
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
- Must pass a criminal background check
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work requires repeated bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling and climbing of stairs
- Work requires use of mechanized cleaning equipment such as vacuums
- Work requires repeated contact with cleaning chemicals
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
- Primary worksite is indoors
WORK HOURS AND WAGES
- Day shifts, weekends and holidays
- Hourly position, Non-Exempt
- $15.50 per hour
