About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled Bed and Breakfast Cook to join the Ocean House team in Newport, OR. As a breakfast cook, you will be crucial in creating a memorable dining experience for our guests and their overall experience at the bed and breakfast. Ocean House is a picturesque bed and breakfast situated in Beach Cove. We are known for our breakfast experience and want to continue that tradition.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare breakfast and pasty selections for guests staying in the hotel each morning.
- Understand how to create menu options that allow for food allergy differentiation.
- Work with the Resident Manager on building menus and food plans that will exceed guest expectations for their breakfast.
- Coordinate with the Resident Manager on food costs. Monitors and controls supplies and products to avoid unnecessary waste.
- Be willing to serve and interact with guests and provide a breakfast that meets their standards.
- Ensure food quality and presentation meet company standards.
- Clears and cleans tables promptly and efficiently during service to maintain high standards for the dining room.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area—store food safely and within compliance standards.
- Collaborate with the hotel team to ensure smooth and efficient breakfast service.
- Respond to guest complaints, finding creative solutions and mitigation to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations. Alert the Resident Manager of any safety violations.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a breakfast cook or in a similar role
- Ability to bake creative and thoughtful pastries
- Knowledge of breakfast food preparation techniques and presentation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Food handler's card or willingness to obtain one
