Job Summary:
The Pediatric Transitional Care Unit (TCUP) is a 16-bed unit dedicated to providing care for infants and children suffering from various conditions or recovering from surgery. The unit handles patients with moderate to high complexity, including those recovering from solid organ transplantation, requiring non-invasive mechanical ventilation (e.g., BIPAP, CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula), titration of anticoagulant therapy, and post-operative specialty surgery care (ENT, neurosurgery).
Responsibilities:
- Deliver expert care in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) and TCUP settings for patients with a variety of complex medical needs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide high-quality, age-appropriate care for pediatric patients.
- Utilize advanced clinical knowledge to perform assessments, develop care plans, and manage treatments.
Required Qualifications:
- Nurse Practitioner II certification.
- CPNP‐AC certification.
- Minimum of six (6) months of PICU or Pediatric Acute Care NP experience (NPs without PICU experience will be trained to cover TCUP only).
Skills and Certifications:
- CPNP‐AC.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
