The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for ensuring all Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables, and Payroll data transactions are recorded in the accounting system. Additionally, the Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing financial and operational analysis, preparing financial forecasting and reporting, and monthly reconciliations. We are looking for someone with hands-on accounting experience. Our ideal candidate uses strong analytical skills to ensure financial data is accurate and has a problem-solving aptitude.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure daily transactions, including accounts payables/receivables, general ledger, and bank and inventory reconciliations, are accurate.
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing of the books.
- Reconcile all major balance sheet and income statement accounts (especially large accounts receivable amounts.)
- Generate and present GAAP basic financial statements.
- Reconcile inter-company transactions and balances.
- Perform monthly inventory cycle counts.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules within accounting software and reconcile them to the assets within the billing system.
- Create variance analysis on predefined expenses.
- Preparing required sales tax, excise tax, business license, and personal property tax returns.
- Conduct monthly financial reviews with Sr. Director of Finance and Accounting.
- Assisting in the preparation of budgets.
- Support staff in assigned project-based work.
- Coordinate the preparation of corporate tax returns.
- Identify and recommend updates to accounting processes and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Minimum of two (2) years of accounting experience; manufacturing or cpg experience is a
- Proficient in accounting software (ie SAP, NetSuite) & Microsoft Office Suite; NetSuite is a
- Experience managing or taking an active role in the month-end close cycle process
- Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP
- Excellent analytical skills in managing large amounts of data; tech savvy: pivot tables, formulas, and repeatable processes
