Key Responsibilities
The Aerospace Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing the development of the Mothership element of the Virgin Galactic Spaceflight System. This includes leadership, oversight, and vision of personnel, engineering, production, test, logistics, suppliers, operations. The Aerospace Program Manager will also be responsible for executing the program and shaping the long-term strategy. Additionally, this role requires developing Department of Defense customer relationships to seek/build advocacy for militarized variants.
Required skills and qualifications include a minimum of 15 years of industry experience in progressive technical and leadership roles. A broad knowledge of and experience with aircraft program R&D, experimental, or prototype aircraft is also essential. Furthermore, the candidate should have knowledge of high altitude, long endurance aircraft design and operation. Experience with logic linked scheduling, cost account management, budget management, configuration management, and requirements management processes is also required.
