Job Title: Specialist Engineer/Analyst
Job Summary:
Virgin Galactic is seeking a talented and motivated Specialist Engineer/Analyst to work with project engineering to develop Product Safety artifacts for new and existing designs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop Product Safety artifacts for new and existing designs.
- Perform safety analyses, including System Safety Analysis (SSA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA), Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), Risk identification, prioritization, and management, Flight Safety Analysis (FSA), Trajectory Analysis, Debris Analysis, Probability of Failure Analysis, Population Exposure Analysis, and Flight Hazard Area Analysis.
- Provide support and risk advice to production, maintenance, technical, project, or program personnel.
Requirements:
- B.S. or M.S. degree in an Engineering discipline, Mathematics, or Physics from an accredited university.
- Knowledge of Systems Engineering development lifecycles, software development practices, and design assurance methods such as DO-178 or ARP4754.
- Experience with Built-In-Test and its application to product safety, FAA commercial space regulations, CFR §450, fault tree modeling software, human factors, and hazard mitigation processes.
- Strong statistical analysis skills, professional communication skills, and team player with excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
Compensation:
The annual U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $132,100.00–$201,550.00, plus additional forms of pay and benefits depending on the position offered.
