What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cashier, Resort Pool position at Virgin Hotels?
YOUR MISSION (The Job Description)
The Cashier is responsible for setting up and maintaining the towel hut and retail shop.
THE NITTY-GRITTY (The Essential Job Duties)
This role will collaborate closely with the General Manager to:
- Prepare the retail shop for daily operations
- Greet guests and help and/or instruction in the use of the pool
- Manage towel distribution and menu instructions
- Check the system to review reserved cabanas and preset as needed; update system status throughout the day, and close out reservations to ensure information is accurate and timely
- Check with VIP Services to ensure there are no additions to the cabana list prior to opening
- Arrive in position at the retail shop at least 15 minutes prior to opening.
- Report any safety hazards to supervisor immediately; stay in location until help arrives
- Report any maintenance issues to the supervisor immediately
- Must be physically present at work in assigned workstation, to perform all the functions required of the position
- Other duties as assigned.

MUST HAVE'S
- Current, legal, and unrestricted ability to work in The United States
- High school or equivalent education required.
- Possess works cards for American Red Cross certification in CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Lifeguard Training & First Aid
- Previous experience in a similar pool/resort setting involving high profile customer contact, or through six months of on-the-job training
- Preferred: 1-2 years' experience in a full-service hospitality establishment
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE'S
- Familiarity with superior customer service skills required.
THE WORKING CONDITIONS
- Lift to 40 pounds of equipment or supplies and move carts that weigh up to 100 pounds.
- Work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of cold, heat, light, and sound. Incumbents are at times subject to hazards such as chemicals; proper safety precautions will be taken. This position occasionally works outside and is subject to all weather. Proper clothing is provided
- Stand and walk for the entire shift. Proper footwear is required
- Balance, bend, carry, climb stairs and ladders, crawl, reach, squat, and twist. These actions are required to assist guests in the proper use of equipment and to perform other job duties
