Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist/Medical Assistant to join our Interventional Cardiology practice. This dual-role position involves managing front desk operations while also assisting with clinical tasks to ensure a seamless patient experience. The ideal candidate must have at least one year of experience in a medical office setting, strong communication skills, and a solid understanding of medical terminology and health information management. Applicants without at least one year of medical office experience will not be considered.
Responsibilities
Clinical Support:
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks, including preparing exam rooms, taking vital signs, and performing diagnostic tests such as EKGs, Holter monitoring, and stress tests.
- Update and maintain patient care plans.
- Process medication refills and return clinical messages.
- Schedule patients for Cardiac Catheterization procedures at the hospital.
Administrative Duties:
- Greet patients warmly and manage the check-in process efficiently.
- Schedule patient appointments and optimize the medical calendar for smooth workflow.
- Address patient inquiries regarding services, procedures, and insurance coverage.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize E-Clinical Works (eCW) for patient management and scheduling.
- Ensure the office remains clean, organized, and welcoming for patients.
Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of experience in a medical office setting (required).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on patient interaction.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Proficiency in medical office management practices and procedures.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and health information management systems.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and medical scheduling processes.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Experience with computerized appointment scheduling and record-keeping is preferred.
