Summary and Typical Duties: The PhD program in Health Related Sciences (HRS) in the College of Health Professions and Virginia Commonwealth University is looking for an adjunct instructor for ALHP 781 “Doctoral Seminar”. This is a hybrid, distance-based, PHD program for working healthcare professionals. Responsibilities include attending and planning for two on-campus sessions (located in Richmond, Virginia) and teaching five, 2-week, distance-based modules. Distance-based teaching is facilitated through the Canvas platform. Course content will build upon student’s prior knowledge in research methods, health care theory, and instructional design to help facilitate the student’s professional development focusing on skills or professional experience typically not provided in coursework, such as interdisciplinary communication, teaching, and knowledge translation. During the course students will be exposed to and explore current health sciences research being conducted across the university and within the community. Adjunct faculty are expected to familiarize themselves with the PhD curriculum and our comprehensive exam procedures, as well as attend a minimum of two PhD faculty meetings (virtually) each year. Artificial Intelligence (AI) should not be used for any part of the application submission or process. |
