What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Women's Soccer Coach position at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU)?
VCU Athletics is seeking two talented Assistant Women's Soccer Coach to:
- Assist in recruitment and evaluation of academically qualified and athletically talented student-athletes;
- Assist in coaching and training of student-athletes at the NCAA Division I level to prepare them for competition in local, regional and national arenas;
- Assist with maintenance of accurate files of current and prospective student-athletes and required NCAA, A10, and University paperwork;
- Assist with travel involved with recruitment, games/matches, and tournaments;
- Assisting with monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes;
- Analyze film and scout opponents; and
- Promote execution of the Athletic Department's strategic plan by adhering to its mission and core values and acting upon its goals and strategies.
Typical Duties
Recruiting
Including, but not limited to, club coach outreach, creation of recruiting emails, maintenance of recruiting database, and conducting campus tours.
Coaching
Including, but not limited to, conducting field player training sessions and assessments, leading individual/small group training sessions, scouting opponents, and assisting with in-game/halftime/postgame coaching.
Campus tours Film analysis breakdown DRIVN Cameras
Administrative Duties
Including, but not limited to, liaison with Sports Medicine, lead on film analysis breakdown, lead on DRIVN, and management of cameras.
Typical Education and Experience
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor's degree or training & experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree;
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU;
Knowledge of NCAA, A10, and University regulations regarding NCAA women's soccer.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience recruiting and/or coaching soccer at the collegiate level; and
Experience with recruiting and video match analysis software systems.
Experience coaching Goalkeepers
Typical Licensure
Must have First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications or achieve certifications within 30 days of hire; valid driver's license.
