Mission or Goal of Unit: Multidisciplinary research in translational,
clinical, and implementation science in Sickle Cell Disease. Chief Purpose of this position: The Department of
Internal Medicine, Division of General Medicine, and Virginia Commonwealth
University seeks a mid-career behavioral research scientist to join a leading
multidisciplinary program in biopsychosocial translational, clinical, and
implementation science in sickle cell disease. The selected candidate will collaborate with
and be mentored by 2 physicians, 3 Nurse Practitioners, and a staff of
professionals conducting daily case management rounds including social workers
and community health workers in the Adult Sickle Cell Medical Home, as well as 3
Physicians, a Physician’s assistant, and a staff of allied health professionals
in the Pediatric Sickle Cell Program. Position Responsibilities: Research | Submitting and executing federal, foundation, and other research proposals and generating new knowledge derived from working with diverse and disenfranchised adult patients with Sickle Cell Disease.
