Qualifications | Minimum Qualifications ● Demonstrated knowledge of and/or experience with operating and maintaining equipment and tools used in technical A/V operations, including projection, sound, lighting design, and video production ● Demonstrated experience with operating and troubleshooting Crestron automation systems and related hardware ● Good organizational and time management skills ● Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills ● Ability to work in physically demanding situations, including heavy lifting up to 50 pounds and working at heights ● Flexibility to work nights and weekends ● Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU ● Experience with standard office equipment, including computers and related software applications Preferred Qualifications ● Undergraduate degree in theater design or technology, arts, music or other related field, or equivalent experience ● Minimum 5 years of experience providing specialized audio visual support in an institutional/professional capacity ● Demonstrated experience with pre-performance, performance, and post-performance activities ● Demonstrated experience of working with a diverse roster of talent ● Demonstrated experience working with creative teams, complex planning processes and equipment ● Experience with digital audio consoles that employ Dante protocol ● Experience with lighting design software and consoles ● Knowledge of maintaining, installing, and repairing audio visual equipment ● Knowledge of safety and regulations in audiovisual design ● Strong understanding of electrical and lighting codes ● Knowledge of principles and practices of stage rigging ● Experience managing a team of PT/on-call AV techs |
