Assistant Director of Events
We are seeking an innovative and detail-oriented Assistant Director of Events to join our dynamic Events Team. Reporting to the Director of Events, this role offers the opportunity to shape Massey’s presence at national, regional, and local trade shows and exhibitions while driving strategic sponsorships and partnerships. As a key contributor, you’ll oversee planning, execution, and evaluation while collaborating with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities
Event Management
- Develop and execute project plans for all trade show components, including logistics, setup, and post reporting.
- Lead the planning and oversight of Massey’s trade show booths, sponsorships, and partnerships.
- Serve as the primary on-site contact for trade show booths, sponsorships, and partnerships. ensuring seamless setup, execution, and teardown.
Collaboration & Communication
- Partner with internal teams to align event strategies with business objectives.
- Collaborate with vendors to design booth layouts
- Conduct pre- and post-event meetings to establish goals, review outcomes, and identify areas for improvement.
Budget & Vendor Management
- Develop and track budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions and adherence to financial guidelines.
- Evaluate and manage vendor partnerships to ensure quality service delivery.
Marketing & Promotion
- Work with the marketing team to drive booth traffic and align event content with brand messaging.
- Promote trade shows and sponsorships to enhance Massey’s visibility and impact.
Evaluation & Reporting
- Analyze event performance, including lead generation and ROI, to inform future strategies.
- Establish and track KPIs to measure year-over-year improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5 years of experience in event or meeting management, with expertise in trade show and sponsorship management.
- Preferred certification: Certified Meeting Professional (CMP).
- Proven ability to manage complex budgets, and tight deadlines.
- Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience with data analysis and KPI reporting.
Travel & Work Arrangement
- Travel required: Up to 35%, including evenings and weekends.
- Hybrid work environment available.
