The Virginia Department of Corrections is hiring LPNs and RNs at our Deerfield locations.
Fulltime and Parttime positions available.
LPN salaries range from $28 - $36 per hour.
RN salaries range from $36 - $46 per hour.

- Screens for sick call, administers medications, and provides first aid and basic life support to patients and employees as needed.
- Promotes continued competence through education/certification with a focus on correctional nursing.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and medical history
- Educate patients and their families on proper self-care techniques
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to provide comprehensive patient care

- Knowledge of medication use, actions and side effects
- Working knowledge of evidence-based principles and practices of professional nursing and skills to perform assessment
- Experience in carrying out provider’s orders in applying treatments
- Demonstrated ability to screen complaints of physical ailments and refer necessary cases to other medical professionals
Requirements:
- Valid state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse
- BLS certification (AHA or ARC certification required)
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of evidence-based practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work well under pressure
