Competitive Compensation:
- LPNs: $60,672 - $78,731 annually (for full time)
- RNs: $78,322 - $100,392 annually (for full time)
Key Responsibilities:
Your role will vary based on your position, but will include:
- Conducting health screenings, administering medications, and providing first aid and basic life support to both patients and staff as needed.
- Continuously improving your skills through specialized training and certifications in correctional nursing.
- Monitoring and documenting patient vital signs, medical history, and treatment plans.
- Educating patients and their families on self-care strategies and health maintenance.
- Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care.
Qualifications and Experience:
Experience requirements will vary by position, but essential qualifications include:
- In-depth knowledge of medication usage, actions, and side effects.
- Proficiency in evidence-based nursing practices and assessment skills.
- Ability to follow through on provider orders and administer treatments effectively.
- Strong judgment in assessing physical complaints and knowing when to refer patients to other healthcare providers.
Shifts:
- Day Shift: 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM
- Night Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM
Requirements:
- Active, valid licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Virginia.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
- Strong clinical skills with a focus on evidence-based practices in patient care.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure under pressure.
