Job Duties
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Collection: Collect, organize, and manage research data through various methods, including surveys, experiments, interviews, and observations.
- Data Analysis: Assist in data analysis using statistical software or data analysis tools as needed. Perform preliminary data cleaning and basic statistical analyses.
- Literature Review: Conduct literature reviews to support the research process and keep up to date with the latest developments in the field.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of research activities, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with research protocols.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with team members, researchers, and external partners as necessary for the successful execution of research projects.
- Administrative Tasks: Assist with administrative tasks related to research, such as mailing record requests, organizing files, taking meeting minutes, and coordinating other related activities.
This is a restricted position, which is solely funded by the CDC ending 09/2028. The availability of funding is scheduled for review annually and periodically thereafter. Continued employment is contingent on the continued availability of funds.

Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge of database management; data quality assurance techniques and procedures; basic statistical formulas and techniques.
- Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, problem solving, and database management skills.
- Knowledge of basic research methods, information review processes and data entry.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to independently collect, analyze, and enter data; perform data quality checks; report and reconcile discrepancies; prepare clear and accurate documentation and reports.
- Knowledge of or experience in public health theory, principles, and/or qualitative data methods.
- Must be able to travel within the state or nationally for meetings or other related events.
- This position is not telework or remote eligible.
Additional Considerations
- Experience using large public health or criminal justice data systems.
- Experience in research, data abstraction or data entry is preferred.
- Experience processing, shipping, and/or handling biospecimens.
