VDOT's Bristol District is looking for a motivated individual to become our next Crew Leader - Structure and Bridge within the Wytheville / Grayson Bridge Crew . As Crew Leader, you will play a vital role in the repair, maintenance, and replacement of bridges and structures, ensuring the safety and reliability of Virginia's roadways.
Core Responsibilities :
- Provide on-the-job training and recommend additional training needs to the Bridge Superintendent.
- Offer constructive feedback on crew performance.
- Assist with record-keeping and administrative tasks.
- Serve as back-up bridge supervisor and lead efforts to implement appropriate in-stream and environmental protection measures during all structural maintenance and construction activities.
- Ensure proper traffic control to support bridge operations.
- Lead and perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment and power tools.
- Determine and demonstrate proper worksite protection techniques.
- Operate all necessary equipment safely and skillfully to perform bridge-related construction and maintenance tasks.
Additional Information :
VDOT is an emergency response agency, and this position requires working outside of regular hours during emergency operations.
