Job Duties
Deputy Clerk (grade 8) assigned operational responsibilities in a high volume, fast-paced judicial office with frequent deadlines and multiple court hearing days. Individual must possess a positive attitude, the ability to quickly learn new tasks accurately, work independently and promote a positive work environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities -
Enter case filings into an automated Case Management System ranging from case initiation to finalization of cases including filing; process correspondence and court forms; provide customer service support; assess fines and costs; receipt financial transactions and conduct cash reconciliation; provide information by phone and in person to the public, attorneys and supporting agencies; and other duties assigned by management. The duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to processing new petitions, motions, issuing, and processing show causes, capiases and summonses, docket preparation, maintaining court files, setting hearing dates, copying orders for parties, appointing attorneys, and supporting in court requirements. In-court presence, preparation, and dispositional functions for cases with highly emotional and detailed criminal testimony may be assigned. Must be able to attune to potential secondary trauma from hearing statements of witnesses and associated parties as well as case details. Must be able to multitask and assume additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; some college strongly preferred. Most competitive applicants will have high volume office experience, familiarity with Microsoft Office products including data entry experience, customer service skills, attention to detail in specific task-oriented functions. Applicants should be highly organized and possess significant knowledge, skills, and abilities in personnel management, time management, and team-oriented experience, as well as customer service experience in a high-volume and complex environment. A successful work history including minimal absences is a must; previous supervisors will be contacted during the selection process.
