About the Position :

The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire a wage Office Services at the Division 3, Area 22 Office in South Hill, Virginia. The successful candidate will assist the Secretary Senior, providing secretarial support to the administrative workflow process, and to provide additional support to the Area First Sergeant, Sergeant(s), and Troopers; and assist in overall operational effectiveness of the Area through written and verbal communications, both internally and externally.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of general office practices and procedure; of proper grammar, spelling and punction; and of basic mathematics.
  • Skill in the use of computers and using Microsoft Office applications; and in operating standard office equipment such as fax and copy machines.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare routine correspondence; to make basic mathematical computations; to perform receptionist work in a professional manner; to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English; and to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent.
  • General office and computer / data entry experience.
  • Must be qualified to serve as Notary Public.
