Job Duties
The Procurement Assistant is tasked with procuring goods and services in compliance with all established regulations. The position will develop and support both formal and informal Request for Proposals (RFP), Invitation for Bids (IFB), Request for Information (RFI) and eVA Quick Quotes. Position will maintain procurement and contract files.
To Procurement Assistant supports the mission of the College of Agriculture (COA) - Cooperative Extension & Agricultural Research by providing cost effective procurement of routine and complex goods and services in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations of the Commonwealth of Virginia and federal government.
Minimum Qualifications
- Working knowledge and skills in the development of solicitations and contract management.
- The ability to interpret, develop and apply policies, rules and regulations.
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
- A working knowledge of electronic procurement system(s).
- Positive customer service skills.
- Minimum of associate's degree in business administration or related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, university policies, rules, regulations and procedures.
