The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking a Performance Management Specialist in the Human Resources Division to manage the performance evaluation process from job descriptions to annual evaluations, provide support and training to managers related to employee performance, and research best practices in performance management to suggest strategies for improving the existing program.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement performance management strategies that align with the organization’s goals and promote a culture of continuous improvement
- Manage performance management timelines, including goal setting, performance compensation, position descriptions, and performance evaluations
- Monitor and track annual position description review and evaluation process
- Maintain performance management software, train new users, and keep user instructions up to date
- Provide training and support to managers and employees on performance management best practices, including goal setting, feedback, coaching, and performance appraisals
- Offer ongoing manager support to address performance-related issues and in implementing performance improvement plans
- Maintain and update career framework as needed
- Support the creation and implementation of individual development plans that align with employees’ career goals and organizational needs
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of HR performance management principles, practices, and tools
- Proven experience in designing and implementing performance management programs
- Proficiency using HRIS systems and performance management software, experience with ADP Workforce Now and Lattice a plus
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making and program improvements
- Exhibit sound judgement in making decisions and maintain strict confidentiality on sensitive matters
Education and Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience in performance management
- Combination of training, education, or experience in human resources, organizational development, or a related field
