Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Accountant plays an important role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares all monthly journal entries and bank reconciliations
- Facilitates and completes monthly close procedures.
- Assists in the production of monthly financial statements.
- Prepares payroll MWR report
- Responsible for yearly government surveys.
- Maintains fixed asset software by adding and deleting tangible property
- Does yearly tangible property returns
- Files yearly business license renewals
- Processes, records, and reconciles credit card transactions.
- Assists in the preparation of audits.
- Responds to internal and external questions timely.
- Collaborates with the accounting team to meet department objectives.
- Complies with all established policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- 2-5 years of accounting/finance experience.
- Demonstrate advanced skills and knowledge of Excel, as well as other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent understanding of accounting rules and procedures, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience with accounting software is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively (written/verbal) across the organization.
- Self-motivated, organized, and highly detail-oriented.
- While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
