Responsibilities
- Supervise resident care to ensure quality standards are met
- Monitor and manage systems as assigned by the Director of Nursing
- Complete assigned duties and paperwork timely
- Supervise nursing staff to ensure quality of care
- Assume role of Director of Nursing as needed
- Take on call duties
- Promote positive customer service towards VHS, co-workers, residents, and visitors
- Attend and participate in committees as assigned
- Comply with all established policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and current Virginia RN license
- Experience/education in Gerontological Nursing required
- Computer knowledge preferred
- Able to read, write, analyze, and interpret information
Working Conditions
While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, turn, bend, stoop, lift, push, pull, reach, talk, hear, taste, and smell. Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds. Risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens and hazardous materials.
