Essential Duties and Qualifications
Virginia Health Services is hiring a Licensed Physical Therapist at Walter Reed Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, a Long Term Care and Rehab Center located in Gloucester, VA!
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment: Perform thorough evaluations of patients to determine their physical condition and treatment needs, including history-taking, physical exams, and diagnostic tests.
- Treatment Planning: Develop personalized rehabilitation plans tailored to each patient’s specific needs, goals, and abilities.
- Therapeutic Interventions: Administer a variety of physical therapy treatments, such as strengthening exercises, manual therapy techniques, balance training, and pain management strategies.
- Progress Monitoring: Track patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and provide regular updates to patients and their families.
- Patient Education: Teach patients and their families about injury prevention, proper body mechanics, home exercises, and self-care strategies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility standards.
- Skills: Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift, move, and position patients, as well as stand or walk for extended periods.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members.
- Ability to create and implement effective rehabilitation programs.
- Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
