Essential Duties and Qualifications
The Nursing Scheduler reports to the Director of Nursing Personnel and is responsible for maintaining staffing levels on all nursing units.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates staffing for facility ensuring coverage for all units.
- Maintains nursing schedules to ensure adequate coverage on all shifts.
- Verifies that all new employees meet eligibility/licensure requirements.
- Ensures that all new employees undergo orientation process.
- Reviews and maintains time cards for appropriate skilled care allocation.
- Ensures that all new employee records are completed and distributed appropriately.
- Completes, files, and submits required paperwork to accounting timely.
- Complies with all established policies and procedures.
- Promotes and demonstrates positive customer service towards VHS, co-workers, residents and visitors.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Experience/education in Gerontological Nursing preferred.
- Computer knowledge preferred.
- Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret information.
- While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, turn, bend, stoop, lift, push, pull, reach, talk, hear, taste and smell.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull and move up to 50 pounds.
- Risk of exposure to blood borne pathogens and hazardous materials.
