Essential Duties and Qualifications
Essential Job Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of residents' needs, including assessments of mobility, fine motor skills, cognitive function, and activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and residents' goals.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to help residents regain or maintain independence in daily activities, such as dressing, bathing, and meal preparation.
- Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to care.
- Educate residents and their families on strategies to enhance independence and safety at home and within the facility.
- Monitor and document residents' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to meet evolving needs.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions to promote social interaction and skill development among residents.
- Stay current with best practices and advancements in occupational therapy and geriatric care.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must be a graduate of an occupational therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association.
- Must hold a current license in the state of Virginia.
- Must possess and maintain proof of current CPR training.
