Essential Duties and Qualifications
Essential Job Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of residents’ physical abilities and limitations, including strength, range of motion, balance, and functional mobility.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each resident’s needs and goals.
- Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions to promote recovery and improve physical function, including exercise programs, manual therapy, and modalities as appropriate.
- Collaborate with nursing staff, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and effective care.
- Educate residents and their families on therapeutic exercises, safety techniques, and strategies for maximizing independence in daily activities.
- Monitor and document residents’ progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to meet changing needs.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss residents’ care plans and progress.
- Stay updated on current best practices and advancements in physical therapy and geriatric care.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members.
- Ability to create and implement effective rehabilitation programs.
- Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
