Job Duties
The Office of the Attorney General, Finance Section, seeks qualified candidates for Buyer Supervisor. This position is responsible for procurements to include entering eVA orders, reviewing sole source, issuance of Quick Quotes, and emergency procurement. The Buyer will conduct procurements according to established Policies & Procedures to assure the agency’s compliance and to ensure that all the needs of the agency are met in a timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be a high school graduate, education or equivalent education and experience in the field of Procurement.
Certification as a Virginia Contracting Associate (VCA) is required for this position, if not a VCA upon hire, certification must be achieved within 12 months from hire date.
A Virginia Contracting Officer (VCO) Certified Public Procurement Buyer (CPPB), or a Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO) is optional.

- Knowledge of the principles and best practices of procuring goods and services by appropriate methods as illustrated in the Virginia Public Procurement Act (VPPA), the Department of General Services, Division of Purchase and Supply’s Agency Procurement and Surplus Property Manual (APSPM) and the ability to interpret the content of the VPPA and APSPM, VITA and eVA mandated requirements and the state administered small purchase charge card program.
- Knowledge, and the use of eVA, VITA, and the DMBE specifications.
- Must be able to communicate in a professional manner both orally and in writing with all levels of administration and OAG staff.
