Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia's capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. The Coordinator will support students and the campus community through interventions to vulnerable populations at Reynolds Community College that will lead to greater student support and retention.
Responsibilities include: providing oversight to the administration of the student code of conduct; providing educational programming and awareness on topics related to restorative practices; implement and lead the College's CARE team; support students who are at risk as identified through various mechanisms; serves a lead role with the College's threat assessment practices and committees including the Violence Prevention Committee, and the Denial and Revocation student processes.
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
Considerable knowledge of student development theory and case management procedures. Considerable knowledge of student conduct and threat assessment practice. Knowledge of community college mission. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities. Demonstrated ability to conduct assessments, produce summary reports and present findings, and facilitate presentations. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing; to work effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds; and to use a personal computer with current software programs. The selected candidate will be required to successfully pass the college's pre-employment security screening.
Additional Considerations
Education or Training
A minimum of a Master's Degree in higher education, student personnel administration, counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
Experience
Progressive experience in higher education, student affairs, or a related field is preferred. Experience in student threat assessment practices, and student conduct case management practices.
Operation of a State Vehicle No Supervises Employees No Required Travel
Travel between campus within the Richmond area.
