Responsibilities Include
- Serving as Graduate Program Coordinator which includes providing support for the Graduate Program Director. This includes but is not limited to: preparing and coordinating graduate student offer letters and contracts, tracking student progress which includes serving as their first point of contact for applying, admission and progress through graduation.
- Working with undergraduate program director to provide support for undergraduate program which includes scheduling classes, managing verifying and adjusting class schedule as needed through banner, and tracking undergraduate student progress and graduation requirements.
- Providing administrative and fiscal support for extension and outreach programs.
- Assisting faculty with other general administrative responsibilities

Required Qualifications
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with individuals, units, and constituencies of diverse backgrounds
- Administrative support experience in an academic or professional office environment such as preparing professional business correspondence and spreadsheets, proofreading and editing, scheduling meetings, Extension programming and maintaining a calendar of appointments
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in handling and maintaining confidential records appropriately.
- Self motivated with the ability to work independently
- Post-secondary education or equivalent training and/or experience
- Proficiency with software such as Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and Google products
- Proficiency with or demonstrated ability to learn Virginia Tech software systems such as Banner HR, Banner Finance, PageUp, Ensemble CMS, Canvas, Leave & Time Worked Reporting System, eVerify
- Proficiency with or demonstrated ability with Extension programing coordination and use of the Destiny one software.
- Demonstrated experience working and effectively communicating with undergraduate and graduate students in an official capacity.
- Fiscal experience such as working with accounting systems, fiscal processing, reconciliations
