So, if you’re passionate about fostering student success, please keep reading.HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE ROLE : You’ll be joining the Dean of Students team; a department centered on supporting students by acting as mentors and advocates pointing them in the right direction, serving as a sounding board, and assisting with personal, social, and academic challenges.You’ll be reporting to the Senior Assistant Dean of Students, in a Regular twelve-month, 100% administrative professional appointment.You’ll be responsible for the strategic planning, development, and management of the GenerationOne Living Learning Community (GenOne).You'll oversee LLC operations, ensuring alignment with institutional and divisional goals, managing student leaders and resources, and evaluating program effectiveness.You'll work closely with senior leadership, stakeholders, and campus partners to drive program success and achieve measurable outcomes.You'll encourage student belonging and inclusion through active and individualized care, mentoring, and support.You’ll have the chance to grow and take advantage of a developmental plan with opportunities to advance within the Department and the Division.You’ll be offered a base compensation package between $50,000 - $55,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and so much more!HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY : THE UNIVERSITY : Virginia Tech as an employer is committed to developing well-rounded employees who are active members of the university community as well as the community at-large. We are mentors and advocates that point students in the right direction, are a sounding board, and assist with personal, social, and academic challenges.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in education, social science, or a related field is required.The selected individual must be an experienced educator with a commitment to student success, learning and diversity.Collaborative self-starter with the highest level of communication, writing, administrative, facilitation, and organizational skills.Experience facilitating small and large group discussions.Considerable experience first-generation student support and research.Demonstrated ability to build and connect communities.Experience contributing to inclusive workplace relationships.Ability to collaborate in diverse teams to foster productive outcomes.Ability to manage social media platforms for the purpose of engaging and retaining students.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Excellent interpersonal skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience working in a higher education setting.Proven ability to implement identity development theories across various marginalized groups.Experience supervising a large team.Appointment TypeRegularSalary Information$50,000 - $55,000Review Date12 / 20 / 2024Work ScheduleMonday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 8 : 00 am - 5 : 00 pm and Thursday 10 : 00 am - 7 : 00 pm.
