Position Summary:
Virginia Transformer is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Field Services Technician to join our team. The Field Services Technician will be responsible for performing on-site service activities, diagnosing technical issues, and ensuring high-quality results. This position plays a vital role in delivering exceptional field services through hands-on technical expertise and excellent customer interaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- On-Site Service: Perform field service activities, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment.
- Technical Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve technical issues on-site, coordinating with internal teams as necessary to implement effective solutions.
- Customer Interaction: Serve as the on-site contact for customers, providing clear communication regarding work progress, issues, and outcomes.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed reports of on-site work, including diagnostics, resolutions, and recommendations for follow-up actions.
- Equipment Management: Ensure all necessary tools, parts, and equipment are available and in good condition for on-site work.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while performing field service activities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate degree in a technical field or related area is preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience as a field service technician, ideally within the transformer or electrical industry.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Soft Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients and internal teams.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems efficiently.
