Employer Relations Specialist (Part time) is responsible for developing and managing strategic relationships with employers, industry leaders, and community partners to enhance career opportunities for students and alumni. This role involves creating and implementing engagement initiatives, overseeing recruitment programs, and strengthening partnerships that align with the university’s mission of student success and workforce readiness. This role will include designing strategies for developing employment relationships with corporate recruiters and hiring managers.
Key responsibilities
- Provide employers with information regarding the services offered by the Office of Workforce Development and Training including guidelines on internship development and campus recruitment practices.
- Provide feedback to employers on job description content and marketing strategies.
- Develop and implements recruiting and preparation events, including fairs and professional development events.
- Collaborate with faculty and administration to identify areas of need as it relates to recruitment.
- Manage event details, including but not limited to marketing and volunteer assignments.
- Develop strategies to generate revenue and minimize event costs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with alumni, faculty and staff to strategically develop employers appropriate for the education, degree levels and career interests of students.
- Educate alumni, faculty and staff on economic, industry and job market trends.
- Consult employers on how to best meet the talent needs through externship opportunities, internships and full-time job development.
- Travel to employer sites and actively engages with community and economic development organizations.
- Presents to civic groups, corporate representatives and business clients.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees who have these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
- Must be able to lift 10 pounds.
