What are the responsibilities and job description for the Oral Surgery Assistant position at Viridian Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery?
Viridian Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is an established and growing private oral and maxillofacial surgery practice located in Woodinville, WA that is looking for a positive, trustworthy, self-motivated, and compassionate oral surgery assistant to build our treatment team. The ideal candidate must be dependable, well organized, skilled in providing direct and indirect patient care, and work well in a team setting.

Dental assistants working in general dentistry – or other specialties – as well as students from an accredited dental assisting program are welcome to apply. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Obtaining/reviewing patient health history and managing initial consultations
- Obtaining CBCTs/radiographs, intraoral scans/impressions, and digital photos
- Pre-surgical preparation of patients
- Providing preoperative and postoperative care instructions to patients and their attendants, and answering postoperative questions and calls
- Setting up and breaking down of surgical suites
- Obtaining intravenous access (IV) on patients
- Assisting the surgeon with both the surgery and anesthesia via the Team Anesthesia Model
- Sterilization and maintenance of instruments and equipment
- Organizing and restocking supplies
- Inputting information into electronic medical records
- Communication with referrals and other medical providers
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) - Required
- Current Washington State Registered Dental Assisting Certification - Required
- Current Basic Life Support Certification – Required
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification - Preferred
- Successful completion of the Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certifying Examination – Preferred (Will be required within the first year of employment)
- Experience with Microsoft Office Programs – Preferred
- Experience with CareStack Practice Management Software, SOTA Imaging, and XChart Anesthesia Software – Preferred
- Ability to obtain hospital credentialing for surgeries performed in hospital operating rooms - Required
- Desire for long-term employment
Full-Time at 35 hours/week at this time (7:00am to 5:30pm Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday; 7:00am to 12:00pm Friday). Some benefits provided. Beginning pay $24-$32 per hour (pay dependent on experience).
