Position Summary:
Virnig Manufacturing is in search of a laser operator. This position will set up, operate, maintain a n d
c l e a n the laser machines to cut parts that meet or exceed Virnig quality standards in a safe and
efficient manner. Strong communication and interaction skills are needed. Troubleshooting and critical
thinking skills are essential to develop solutions to problems that arise, while organizational skills are
necessary to ensure work is done correctly, on time, and properly documented.
Education/Qualifications:
- Mechanical experience.
- Forklift experience required.
- Experience in use of hoist and other material moving equipment (floor jacks, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of electrical/hydraulic and mechanical components.
- Knowledge of production processes related to warehouse equipment, material and product.
- Ability to follow a schedule and to work as a team with the area lead to reach daily production
- Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to the trade.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Must have basic math skills.
- Good organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills (verbal, listening, written).
- Ability to work on a team and independently.
- Physical effort- ability to lift up to 1OOlbs., frequently bend, twist, endure long periods of repetitive
motion and stand on feet for 95% of the shift.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Load and unload steel to and from lasers, sort parts as determined by the needs of the internal
- Inspect products that are produced and clean as needed to ensure no defects are passed on.
- Responsible for quality control on product you produce. Make adjustments as necessary during
specifications.
- Notify Lead or other persons necessary if a safety or quality issue arises.
- Work on prototype attachments and special projects.
- Oversee daily and weekly maintenance on equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Responsible to maintain a clean and safe work area to the standards set by the area lead.
- Be cooperative, positive, and respectful with coworkers and lead.
- Ensure all safety policies are followed, wear personal protective equipment and hold a high regard
- Responsible to inform the area lead of any concerns that arise.
- Participate in proper ergonomic practices as designed for this position.
- Continuously seek out opportunities for self-improvement.
- Assist in other areas as needed.
- Other duties assigned.
- Work overtime as needed.
