Duties
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards for physical education.
- Teach students the fundamentals of various sports, fitness activities, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to help them improve their physical abilities.
- Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect among students during physical activities.
- Organize and supervise physical education events, competitions, and extracurricular activities.
- Maintain a safe and positive learning environment by enforcing rules and guidelines.
- Collaborate with other educators to integrate physical education with other subjects.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student performance and development.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field from an accredited university.
- Valid teaching certification or license in Physical Education (as required by state regulations).
- Strong knowledge of physical fitness principles, sports rules, and health education.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage students of diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to motivate students and create an inclusive atmosphere for all participants.
- Previous teaching experience or internships in educational settings is preferred but not mandatory.
