What are the responsibilities and job description for the SRE Architect position at Virtusa?
Role: SRE Messaging
Location: Any US location, but preference for Tampa, Dallas, New Jersey, California
Background: A large US Telco wants to develop a solution for designing and implementing workflows spanning multiple network applications catering to functions such as service assurance. The solution will include a bespoke front-end and will integrates the following: a 3rd-party/open-source workflow designer, a rules-engine, low-code-no-code (LCNC) framework(s) to generate UI, mobile, and service code, and a task engine through which the workflow will be orchestrated. The generated code and configuration will be deployed on Kubernetes using an automated CI/CD pipeline. The solution should be extensible to accommodate a wide variety of workflows across network functions.
Required skills and Experience
1. BS and 8 years of relevant work experience
2. Experience with large message bus architectures across multiple data centers
3. Experience with scale of message rates greater than 2.5 million messages per second.
4. Experience with AWS Services
5. Experience with message bus technologies (either Kafka, Pulsar, or NATS)
6. Enable customer experience monitoring using SRE principles to identify when individual message bus topics or message bus subscribers are experiencing issues.
7. Extensive experience with Kubernetes or any Kubernetes deployment derivative thereof (Webscale, EKS, etc).
8. Experience with API Design and Development
9. Write high-quality source code to implement automation opportunities across the onboarding and monitoring pipelines
10. Experience working in Agile/Scrum
11. Strong communication and inter-personal skills
12. Must be currently hands-on
