Visante is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Pharmacy to lead our Specialty Pharmacy managed services. This role, under the direction of the Visante leadership team, will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction for ambulatory pharmacy services. The Director will oversee all aspects of the specialty pharmacy, including operations, financial management, program development, clinical services, and personnel management, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional patient care and customer service. The Director of Pharmacy will oversee the pharmacy team’s performance and outcomes, adjusting plans and priorities as necessary to address resource and operational challenges effectively. This role requires full oversight of specialty pharmacy services to ensure that both business and clinical objectives are consistently met and exceeded. The Director will also play a key role in enhancing the overall patient experience and driving business growth and development. Decisions will be guided by established policies, procedures, and organizational priorities, with guidance from Visante leadership on high-impact decisions to ensure strategic and operational alignment.
Additionally, this role will partner closely with Infusion Strategy, Revenue Cycle, Medication Access, 340B, and other Visante leadership teams, as well as client committees, leadership, and clinicians, to enhance service delivery and operational effectiveness. This involves implementing quality assurance and improvement programs, managing human resources, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and applicable regulatory and accreditation standards, evaluating operating and capital resource needs, and effectively managing financial productivity and budgeting to ensure effective resource utilization and fiscal responsibility.
The Director will serve as an operational resource and participate in client and Visante strategic discussions on program expansion, payer network inclusion, limited distribution drug access, and contracting strategies. This role is directly accountable for overseeing operations across multiple locations, including pharmacy dispensing and clinical programs, ensuring efficient and effective management.
WORK LOCATION AND TRAVEL
This is an on-site position in the Toledo, Ohio, area with flexibility for remote work, as scheduled, and minimal travel.
Requirements:Education
Required: Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited or university.
Preferred: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D), Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field
License/Certification
Required: Current Pharmacist License in Ohio in good standing
Experience
Required: Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience; Minimum of 3 years of experience leading sales and/or operations in Specialty Pharmacy; Minimum of 3 years of experience managing a Profit and Loss (P&L) budget, including budget development; Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues; Demonstrated experience providing high-quality customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting service quality standards and evaluating customer satisfaction; Proficiency in Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
