Vishay Dale Electronics, Columbus, NE is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of resistors and e-beam technology. There are around 600 employees currently working in Columbus, NE. We are one of the largest employers in the Columbus Area.
Job Summary:
Responsible for all facilities in Columbus pertaining to heating, air conditioning, power, air and general buildings operation. Directs the activities of the facilities department as it pertains to all maintenance and up-keep. This position is responsible for overseeing the installation, upgrading, repair and maintenance of Production, and Engineering Equipment. It may typically include managing a group of Equipment Maintenance Technicians, performing troubleshooting and repair of equipment, and maintaining all associated documentation.
What you will be doing:
- Manages and directs all technical employees performing facilities and maintenance activities
- Coordinates all changes to the facilities including utility service (power, water, gas, etc.) Plans, designs, installs, and maintains the necessary safety devices (sprinkler system, security equipment, fire alarms, storm alarms, fire extinguishers, exits, and entrances, etc.)
- Coordinates with production management regarding new line layouts, and equipment requirements. Determines the necessary services, heat, light, air, electrical, venting, and air conditioning to accommodate production. Plans and executes all moves to insure minimum downtime and assists with installation of new equipment.
- Coordinates outside contractors to perform work that cannot be done by company technical employees.
- Maintains an inventory of necessary spare parts for equipment upkeep and repairs for maintenance.
- Responsible for paying monthly utility bills and must develop and maintain an annual budget. Budget to include building renovations and known repairs.
- Excellent motivational, interpersonal and communication skills are required.
What you will bring along:
- Five to seven years’ experience in Facilities / Maintenance capacity
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
- Must satisfactorily complete HAZWOPER training.
- Initial emergency contingency plan implementation training within six months of the appointment of position dealing with hazardous waste and subsequent annual refresher thereafter.
- Initial hazardous waste management procedures (RCRA) training within six months of the appointment of position dealing with hazardous waste and subsequent annual refresher thereafter.
