Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager to join our growing construction management team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in overseeing and managing construction projects from inception to completion. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The role requires a deep understanding of construction processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Some jobsites may involve government projects or work with school districts, so the ability to pass a background check is required.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the full life cycle of construction projects, from pre-construction planning to project closeout.
- Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones and overall project delivery.
- Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring cost-effective management of resources and preventing budget overruns.
- Implement and enforce construction processes, safety protocols, and quality control standards on all projects.
- Use project management software (such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar) to track project progress, manage documentation, and communicate with stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates to clients and senior management on project status, risks, and any issues that may arise.
- Manage change orders, project scope adjustments, and unforeseen project challenges while maintaining project objectives.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and company policies.
Skills and Qualifications:
- At least 4 years of experience as a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager in the construction industry.
- Ability to manage large, complex projects and coordinate multiple teams to meet deadlines and objectives.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, budgeting, and project scheduling techniques.
- Proficient with project management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Ability to resolve issues and make quick, effective decisions to keep projects on track.
- Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Ability to pass a background check (required for certain government or school district projects).
Bonus Points:
- Experience managing projects for Independent School Districts (ISDs) or on government contracts.
- Familiarity with the specific regulations, bidding processes, and requirements for public sector construction projects.
