Vision IT provides strategic consulting services to meet mission IT requirements for our government clients. We seek the services of a Junior Business Intelligence Analyst to support the Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) Information Management Division / Technology Innovation Section.
The Junior Business Intelligence Analyst will :
- Possess and apply expertise on multiple complex work assignments.
- Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks.
- Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems. Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.
- Plan, direct, or coordinate activities in such fields as electronic data processing, information systems, systems analysis, and computer programming.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Active Top Secret with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibilityWorking knowledge in process development, business process reengineering, and performance improvement methodologiesAbility to apply process improvement and reengineering methodologies and principles to conduct process modernization projectsProficient experience in process mapping, data analysis, and project managementAbility to analyze business and technical processes to formulate and develop new and modified business information processing systemsRepresent business stakeholders to define functional requirements and business cases for process improvements and technology developmentsAbility to organize data from multiple sources and turn large data sets into meaningful, actionable informationAbility to use data visualization to tell a clear and compelling insightAbility to analyze and interpret complex documents and implementation plansProvide group facilitation, interviewing, training, and additional forms of knowledge transfer.Proficient skills in Microsoft Office with advanced skills in Excel spreadsheets and PowerPointAdept at working with customers to extract business requirements and preparing documentationVerbal and written communication skillsBusiness acumen and detail-orientedCritical thinking skills and a quick learnerDemonstrated experience and expertise in business models and technology integrationFunctional Responsibility
Identify and define core business processes that drive value and require optimizationCollaborate with stakeholders across processes, facilities, locations, units, and levels (staff to executive) to gain an understanding of business objectives, facilitate defining measurement solutions, and implement business processes and techniques that drive performanceContribute to analyses to create a story with themes that clearly show issues and required actions that will improve performanceRecognize data variances and trends, research causal factors, and recommend possible solutionsSupport initiatives that track process adherence and performance to improvement plans, including, but not limited to, the implementation of KPIs, SLAs, and dashboards to monitor processes and drive accountabilityResearch best business practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark dataAnalyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing business processesDetermines how new information technologies can support reengineering business processesPrepare and analyze management and site-specific reportsWork closely with Business Intelligence / IT to automate standard reportingComplete change management assessments and change management strategiesCreating actionable deliverables, such as a communication plan, roadmap, coaching plan, training plan, or resistance management planApply strong analytical and technical skills to document findings in accordance with approved quality procedures and standardsParticipate in the development and delivery of reports, dashboards, and other communication to meet the needs of program stakeholders, increase risk awareness, and support decision-makingDefining and measuring success metrics and monitoring change progressAnalyze and document functional requirements, business process drawings / flow charts, functional specifications, requirements roadmapParticipate in the validation and traceability of functional requirements to functional specifications, system technical specificationSupport and document revised business processesMinimum Required Experience
Five (5) plus years of experience with a proven record of success in business process analysis and process improvement initiativesDemonstrated facilitation skills and process-driven analytical skillsAbility to participate in multiple efforts simultaneouslyExcellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and management on both the business and IT sidesSoftware Skills : MS Visio, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS WordPreferred Qualifications
