We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant/Ophthalmic Technician to join our outstanding team at Eye of York in York, PA . Our ideal candidate already has Ophthalmic Technician experience or is already a certified Medical Assistant/Ophthalmic Technician.
Experience working as an ophthalmic technician or scribe is required.
Hours: Monday through Wednesday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Tuesday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. No Weekends!

Responsibilities
- Take medical histories and verify information
- Perform visual function and diagnostic tests, such as applanation tonometry, refraction, and retinoscopy
- Utilize tools such as a Humphrey field analyzer and OCT to take eye measurements
- Inform the ophthalmologist about changes to a patient's visual acuity and other vision issues
- Dilate eyes to prepare patients for their eye exam
- Explain how to use eye drops or other medications properly
- Explain how to use contact lenses properly
- Assist with clinical supplies and clinic functionality.
- High school diploma or GED certificate.
- Experience with EMR tools a plus.
- Proficient with MS Office tools (outlook, excel, word).

- Experience working as an ophthalmic technician or scribe is required, or completing an ophthalmic assistant or technician program is strongly preferred (COA or COT).
