Key Responsibilities
IT Asset Management & Logistics:
- Oversee the shipping, receiving, tracking, and disposal of IT hardware assets, ensuring full compliance with DoD and Air Force regulations.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS) and update asset information in accordance with DAFMAN 17-1203 IT Asset Management policies.
- Perform IT equipment transfers, reconcile asset discrepancies, and provide current records to property custodians.
- Manage the IT equipment lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal.
- Collaborate with Government leadership and property custodians to ensure all IT assets are properly accounted for.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and transportation of IT hardware, following secure disposal processes as per DLA Disposition Services (DLA DS) guidelines.
- Train new Property Custodians (PCs) within 30 days of appointment, ensuring they understand their IT asset management responsibilities.
- Maintain a current roster of Property Custodians, updating DPAS records within three (3) business days of any personnel changes.
- Provide guidance on handling defective assets and managing warranty returns, ensuring timely replacements.
- Assist unit property custodians with inventory reconciliation, audits, and compliance reporting.
- Develop and distribute standardized training materials to support Property Custodian responsibilities.
- Ensure all IT asset records are accurately documented and comply with Government regulations.
- Conduct regular audits to verify IT equipment accountability and prepare reports on asset movement and status.
- Perform monthly and ad-hoc reporting on received, turned-in, and shipped IT assets.
- Generate DD1348 documentation for IT asset turn-ins and ensure compliance with disposal procedures.
- Coordinate Base-to-Base transfers and collaborate with Department of the Air Force IT Asset Management (DAFECO) for updates and guidance.
- Oversee IT warehouse operations, ensuring efficient handling, storage, and security of IT assets.
- Schedule and manage customer pick-up/drop-off appointments, ensuring accountability and proper record-keeping.
- Operate and maintain Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) forklifts and trucks for IT asset transportation.
- Ensure lost or damaged IT equipment is reported and necessary actions are taken in compliance with Government guidelines.
- Monitor DAFECO SharePoint and attend quarterly DAFECO Town Halls for policy updates and guidance.
- 3 years of experience in logistics, IT asset management, or warehouse operations.
- 1 years of experience managing IT hardware tracking, shipping, receiving, and disposal.
- Expertise in the Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS) and Government IT asset management policies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint).
- Ability to lift and transport IT hardware, operate forklifts and Government vehicles, and work in a warehouse environment.
- Familiarity with DoD asset tracking regulations, inventory audits, and IT equipment lifecycle management.
- IT Asset Management (ITAM) Certification or equivalent.
- ITIL Foundation.
- Forklift Operation Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
- Secret or higher (must be eligible for DoD clearance).
