Position Title: Production Supervisor
Reports To: Director of Operations & Facilities
FLSA Status: Hourly - Non-Exempt Work hours: (Full time) Mon-Fri 7:30a-3:30p
Summary of Position:
Provide direct supervision and support of hourly employees in all areas of the Production Department with goals of taking steps to maintain and increase maximum efficiency, quality of products, employee morale and discipline.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Ensure all components for the final assembly are ready for employees at the start of each workday.
· Assign duties to all hourly employees as required by production schedules.
· Take corrective action in response to any departmental problems such as production efficiency, quality, working conditions, personnel issues, supplies and notify Director of Operations and Facilities (DO&F).
· Keep the production area clean to ensure there are no violations of safety.
· Instruct all hourly employees regarding fire and safety procedures.
· Train and/or assist hourly employees needing help in performing assigned tasks.
· Work with DO&F to ensure that all Unique Source contract work is done in accordance with mandated 75/25 guidelines.
· Ensuring downtime and changeover of jobs are addressed as quickly and seamlessly as possible.
· Complete and collect daily time and TC sheets.
· Maintain discipline within the department, report and major problems to the DO&F.
· Seeking out ways to both improve existing productivity and finding new methods to increase productivity while maintaining high quality standards.
· Provide input to DO&F for preparation of performance appraisals on all hourly employees.
· Maintain running inventory of pen parts, finished pens, pen production, and pen orders.
· Provide Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with a monthly report by the end of each month.
· Monitor level of packaging materials needed to pack pens and any other items and order as needed.
· Based on production demands, determine parts needed and order from correct vendors.
· Work with vendors for supply chain.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
- Experience working with/supervising disabled persons a plus.
- Five to seven years of mid-level administrative/managerial/production/inventory control experience.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Valid PA driver’s license.
