Job Description
Background: This position is part of the Corporate Technology team, specifically within the Enterprise Transformation Office IT. This team is responsible for developing business change software, including Planview PPM, Jira Cloud, Jira Service Management, Rally, and Momentum. We are seeking a report developer with experience in creating Power BI and SSRS reports from the Planview Portfolios PPM SaaS application. You will report to the Lead Business Analyst of the Enterprise Transformation IT and collaborate with the Transformation Office to design and deliver reporting solutions in Planview, utilizing Power BI tiles, SSRS reporting within Planview, and Power BI workspace reports outside of the Planview application.
Overview:
In this role, you will serve as the primary liaison between technology infrastructure and a specific business or functional area. You will help define business requirements, build application and process specifications, coordinate with delivery teams, and ensure that work is prioritized based on business value and aligned with overarching business and technical strategies. You will also contribute to writing technical materials and documentation. A key responsibility will be to define requirements for C-suite reporting from Planview and develop effective solutions using relevant technologies, primarily Power BI, with some SSRS involvement.
Role Summary and Job Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain system documentation and best practices.
- Design, develop, deploy, and support reporting solutions for the Transformation Office, collaborating with the Application Owner, Application Admin, and Planview professional services.
- Work independently with confidence.
- Define complex or enterprise-level business needs for new or enhanced products, services, or optimized business processes.
- Build and maintain relationships with senior-level internal and external business partners to ensure that all business requirements are understood, documented, and fulfilled.
- Apply a lean-agile mindset to work projects.
- Engage in initiatives of moderate complexity, size, and impact.
- Analyze complex or ambiguous problems, breaking them down into manageable parts.
- Adapt decisions as new information becomes available.

- Assist end users with functional issues and questions.
- Manage configuration changes to existing screens or fields and add new configured screens or fields.
- Manage changes to dashboards, tiles, and portlets.
- Gather requirements, analyze them, and make recommendations for product updates in alignment with the current vision.
- Assist in creating, revising, and executing test plans, functional testing, or application testing during rollouts.
Business Knowledge:
- Possess a working knowledge of Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies and best practices.
- Demonstrate an understanding of products and processes within the supported domain.
- Articulate business needs and translate them into technology solutions.
- Make decisions that prioritize current and future business needs while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
- Understand the project management lifecycle from demand management through execution and closure.
Requirements:
- Typically, 5 years of experience in a technical business analysis, system administration, or development role related to project management or change management software.
- Experience developing reporting solutions in Power BI using Planview Project or Agile Place.
- Proficient in using Power BI to gather data from various sources and create reports.
- Identify reporting needs and propose viable solutions.
- Stay informed about the latest best-of-breed technologies.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical audiences through various mediums, including verbal and written forms.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of multiple technologies and applications.
- Identify impacts across teams and coordinate with senior levels to manage dependencies and competing priorities.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in SQL.
- A solid understanding of how organizations manage work and resources, along with a thorough grasp of supporting processes and methodologies.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with Jira Cloud, Jira Service Management, and Rally is a plus.
- Experience building SSRS reports within Planview.
