Job Opening: Subsurface Utility Engineer/Locator

Visionary Subsurface Solutions is looking for a Subsurface Utility Engineer/Locator to join our team! Your role will involve utility investigations, field data collection, and mapping to support projects. You will be responsible for accurately identifying, designating, and surveying the location of underground utilities on a variety of project sites ranging from Residential Dwellings to Industrial sites.

Essential Functions:

· Certified through in-house company training & certification program (or equivalent) on one (1) to three (3) of the services offered by Visionary Subsurface Solutions. Services include Utility Locating & Invert Collection, Concrete Scanning, Vacuum Excavation, 3D Structure Scanning, Utility Survey, and Video Pipe Inspection.

· Operate Data Collectors and collect field measurements of Utility Designation.

· Ability to read & interpret maps including Survey Drawings, Construction & Design Plans, Blueprints, & As-Builts, etc.

· Download field data files and prepare field sketches.

· Research the location of existing utility lines.

· Positively represent the company while communicating professionally and regularly with customers on-site.

· Maintain and take care of your assigned company vehicle and equipment.

· Any other duties as assigned.

· Overnight travel will be required on occasion.

Requirements:

· 1-5 years of experience with utility locating and subsurface mapping.

· Valid driver’s license.

· Strong math and computer skills.

· Proficient in planning & time management

Working Conditions

Physical ability to lift up to 75lbs and able to stand/walk for 8 hours a day. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, climbing, hiking, digging/shoveling, and lifting is required.

Exposure to all weather conditions: hot, cold, wet, humid, or other conditions caused by weather. Field work is often performed on busy streets or construction sites. Loud noise may be experienced at times.

Visionary Subsurface Solutions will provide all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) required to complete work safely, with the exception to work boots. Employees will be responsible for safety toes work boots. Visionary Subsurface Solutions offers work boot reimbursement on an annual basis.

Estimated pay range: $30-$32 per hour depending on experience. Overtime paid at time and a half.
