Position : Group Sales Manager – West Coast Market
Salary : $75,000 to $84,000

Visit Boulder, the Convention and Visitors Bureau is the official destination marketing organization for the City of Boulder. As a sales and marketing organization, the main objective of Visit Boulder is to strengthen the local economy by inspiring visitors to connect with Boulder's vibrant landscape and unique culture.
The Group Sales Manager, reporting directly to the Vice President of Sales, is responsible for promoting and selling Boulder, CO as a premier destination for meetings and conferences, with the goal of generating room nights for area hotels. This role focuses on developing and maintaining relationships with meeting planners, associations, corporations, and other organizations to generate group business for Boulder’s hotels, venues, and attractions.
Key Responsibilities :
Sales & Business Development
- Actively prospect, solicit, and secure group business for Boulder through outbound sales efforts, networking, and lead generation.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to attract new group business, including corporate meetings, association conferences, and social events.
- Conduct sales calls, attend industry trade shows, and host site visits to showcase Boulder’s offerings.
- Build and maintain relationships with meeting planners, event organizers, and travel industry partners.
- Respond to RFPs (Requests for Proposals) and coordinate with local hotels and venues to develop competitive proposals.
- Serve as a liaison between clients, Boulder hotels and other Boulder area venues; distribute leads within assigned territory to hotel, unique venue, and restaurant partners; all RFPs to be distributed to partners within one business day; follow up with timely communication to clients and partners.
- Plan and execute client and partner events; manage participation of assigned tradeshows.
- Use department related databases to maintain shared records of past, current, and prospective clientele; develop and maintain accurate key contact listing for new or existing clients through research, client events, tradeshows, and other industry resources.
- Actively maintain professional national association memberships and involvement specific to designated market segments; other duties and projects as assigned.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging market opportunities.
