VISIT FLORIDA shares Florida sunshine with the world. As the state’s official tourism marketing organization, VISIT FLORIDA has been charged with selling an extraordinary vacation product since 1996. As part of our Visitor Services team, we’re seeking a customer service focused individual to fill our 231 Welcome Center Manager position.

Core Responsibilities:
- Oversee the staff and day-to-day operations of the 231 Welcome Center, providing direction to staff and ensuring their success in the Certified Information Specialist program.
- Plan and implement promotional events and activities related to themed months, working with industry representatives on activities and displays.
- Oversee budgets for the Welcome Center, managing and monitoring revenue and expenses.
- Manage the maintenance and repairs of equipment and Welcome Center facility.
- Track visitor data and other statistical information, generating periodic reports as needed.
- Assist staff by working at the information counter or juice counter as needed to ensure full coverage and availability to guests and visitors.
- Develop relationships with local business leaders, tourism industry professionals, and local and State Representatives. Solicit partnerships, sponsorships, and rack space participation with industry leaders.
The Florida Welcome Centers' hours of operation are 8 am to 5 pm, seven days a week. This is a exempt 40 hour a week position with weekend work required. Staff will be scheduled off every other weekend.
Minimum Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of equivalent work experience, with 1 year supervisory experience
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work a front-line counter
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Team player with flexible and positive attitude
- Knowledge of Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office products
- Must be able to obtain and maintain national certification as a Florida Information Specialist
- Ability to lift, move, and carry up to 20 lbs. regularly. Ability to stand, walk, and move freely through entire shift.
- Position requires travel to trade shows, periodic training sessions, and supporting special events hosted at other Welcome Centers. Valid driver's license is required.
