Visit Oakdale, the official destination marketing organization of Oakdale, CA, is seeking a talented and detail-oriented On-Call Copywriter to support our mission of promoting Oakdale and Knights Ferry as must-visit destinations. The ideal candidate will write, edit, and proofread compelling content across various platforms, ensuring consistency with our brand voice and marketing goals.
This flexible, remote position is perfect for a self-motivated individual with a passion for storytelling, exceptional writing skills, and experience in crafting tourism, hospitality, or lifestyle content.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Creation: Write and edit engaging copy for social media posts, blogs, website pages, newsletters, and advertising materials as needed.
- Proofreading & Editing: Review and refine existing content to ensure accuracy, grammatical correctness, and consistency with Visit Oakdale’s tone and style.
- Collaborative Messaging: Work with other contractors (e.g., photographers, videographers, graphic designers) to align messaging and ensure cohesion between written and visual branding.
- Brand Representation: Help craft copy that reflects the unique charm of Oakdale and Knights Ferry, emphasizing local attractions, events, and amenities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a copywriter, content creator, or editor (portfolio required).
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Familiarity with digital marketing and social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, email newsletters).
- Experience with SEO best practices and web copywriting is a plus.
