About the Position
The Senior Marketing Manager is a dynamic leadership role responsible for guiding the execution of strategic marketing initiatives that elevate the Spokane Region’s profile as a destination of choice. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, this position oversees the creation, deployment, and performance of integrated marketing campaigns, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The Senior Marketing Manager leads cross-functional collaboration, agency partnerships, and content production, driving excellence across digital, print, and experiential platforms. The role includes one direct report, managing the Content Production Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Campaign Leadership: Manage the development and execution of high-impact seasonal campaigns for leisure, convention, and partnership marketing initiatives. Provide strategic oversight of media plans and ensure all campaigns are aligned with Visit Spokane’s objectives.
- Team Leadership: Supervise the Content Production Manager, ensuring the successful content calendar planning and execution of digital content including websites, blogs, social media calendars, and email newsletters.
- Project and Workflow Management: Oversee marketing workflows, prioritizing projects and ensuring timely delivery of promotional materials, advertising, and sales collateral leveraging the organization’s project management software (e.g. Monday.com)
- Agency and Vendor Partnerships: Coordinate agency projects, including creative and media agencies, influencers, freelancers, and production vendors to produce on-brand campaigns and manage deliverables efficiently.
- Integrated Marketing Oversight: Ensure cohesive messaging and storytelling across all channels by collaborating across all departments; Public Relations, Convention, Leisure, and Partnership & Engagement.
- Campaign Reporting & Analytics: Provide regular, data-driven performance insights and recommendations to leadership.
- Social Media: Coordinate social media strategy across vendors for content gathering and execution. Oversee the social media content calendar produced by the Content Production Manager. Ensure content review processes are in place.
- Digital content: manage content creation, and optimize digital marketing efforts, including SEO, SEM, and analytics reporting.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate content planning meetings and ensure marketing deliverables are integrated into broader organizational goals.
Software/Tools
- Google Analytics and Reporting: Develop, maintain, and optimize marketing performance dashboards using Google Analytics and Google Data Studio to track campaign performance, customer behavior, and ROI metrics. Regularly provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
- Google Ads Management: Plan, execute, and monitor pay-per-click (PPC) campaigns across Google Ads. Optimize ad copy, keywords, and targeting strategies to maximize campaign effectiveness while staying within budget constraints.
- Data Integration and Insights: Ensure seamless integration between Google Suite tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Tag Manager) and other marketing platforms. Leverage data-driven insights to inform marketing strategies, improve user experience, and enhance conversion rates.
- Meta Advertising Campaigns: Plan, create, and optimize paid advertising campaigns across Meta platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) using Meta Ads Manager. Monitor campaign performance, adjust strategies to meet KPIs, and ensure alignment with overall marketing objectives.
- Meta Business Suite Management: Oversee the setup, management, and maintenance of Meta Business Suite, including managing account permissions, integrating tools, and ensuring proper configuration of ad accounts, pixels, and catalogs for seamless operation.
- Audience Targeting and Insights: Leverage Meta’s audience targeting capabilities to define and refine target segments. Analyze performance data to identify trends, develop insights, and make data-driven recommendations for enhancing campaign effectiveness and maximizing ROI.
Annual Accountability Measures
- Ensure all marketing deliverables are developed and executed on time and according to Visit Spokane’s organization and brand guidelines.
- Ensure content planning processes are effectively managed, including hosting cross-departmental meetings and maintaining a robust content calendar.
- Effectively collaborate with agencies, build relationships, and manage deliverables ensuring campaigns can achieve performance goals.
- Oversee and support the performance and development of Content Production Manager, ensuring clear communication, accountability, and efficiency.

Education/Experience
This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience and at least a bachelor's degree in Business Management, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or other related field.
